Re: Gray Screen at New Game
If I ever worked on another game engine I would have to be a collective effort because I have no interest in programming, audio, texturing modeling, and level design are the only things I could work on now. Understood - unfortunately I am wrong person to be asked, because I am far too busy to work ...

Re: Gray Screen at New Game
One other thing I noticed, when I changed resolutions, the GUI didn't re-center to the new resolution. I went from like 640x480 to 1680x1050 and the UI was off the screen so I had to Alt+F4 to exit, but it worked when I restarted the game. That's well known bug in new renderer, solving it would res...

Re: Strange Glitches
Okay, bug confirmed and is likely (about 65% chances) to be solved today ;) There is memory overflow inside original Drakan that could result in things you've shown on screens, I am working on it right now :) Edit This happen to be much more serious issue, and I don't have that much free time right ...

Re: Running a game server?
I may host another server, but this depends whenever or not I'll make my old computer working again (probably faulty power supply, but I need to do some diagnostics). Ah, and I can provide custom subdomain in my drakan.eu domain

Re: death fadeout
Short answer: no
Long answer: it may be possible with some advanced memory hacking, but I've never looked into this - and, honestly, I don't want to

Re: Strange Glitches
Okay, this will require much more work on my side as I cannot reproduce this on any of testing computers I use - and all static checks shows there should be no such problems. Soon I will post version with much more verbose logging, it may be of great help for tracking problems like this

Re: Gray Screen at New Game
Thanks for the suggestion. Changing resolutions did not fix anything. I still see the loading bar pop up and then gray/frozen screen. Wait a second, so you see loading bar? o.O Is rest of menu is working as well? If so, do you see intro level (that owl on branch)? When you got that blank screen, do...

Re: Gray Screen at New Game
If you're using Vista or W7 try to launch with compatibility mode with XP and desktop composition disabled (latter can really help). Also round of questions :) 1. Can you launch game via Drakan.exe (not via Mod10th/Drakan 10th Anniversary.exe, the default shortcut)? Do the problem persist there? 2. ...

Could you post some screenshots? What are your hardware specs and do you play in fullscreen or window?

Re: Strange Glitches
What generation of DirectX have you tested it with? I guess you're aware that the highest possible version for WinXP is 9.0c. I'll give it a try and check if there're newer builds, though. This is really confusing for non-programmers, but there are more than 40 versions of DirectX 9.0c right now an...

Re: Strange Glitches
What the hell?! I had that error, but was fixed already, few builds ago... I'll look into this at once, but please confirm: Is this problem happening in newest version (I mean 0.9.8.90, build 90)? There was a typo in older release that on potentially *could* result in this, but was fixed alre...

Re: Fails to Launch: Issues
To be honest - reason behind that ATI crash was very unlucky typo on my part (and it passed nVidia and static checks without warnings!) Everything should be fine now

Re: Fails to Launch: Issues
It seems that I've just found and confirmed bug in core ATI driver (not the first, have I mentioned that? ;) ) I've borrowed computer from a friend with ATI card - expected exactly the same thing as all of you. More weird is every time I try to attach debugger, I got BSoD pointing to ati3duag.dll......
