as i typed above it is grayed for character models (RECs)... you can only export static models (REOs), for example a model of a sword or a tree...

hmm - i enough happy with winnt4svr with sp6 and some post-sp6 fixes - it runs many years (from 2001 or 2002 i think) without crashes from itself or software bugs... the only way to crash it is my own attempts to add more services :) ... the most resources-consuming was hosting it on fast inet node ...

you can easy export REO models (static objects models) from Editor - select the model you need in database and find Export command in main menu of database window... for RECs (animatable character models) it is really hard to even export enough data to make a mod in the future... for a low level of ...

yes... but with some hacking - there is a functions in Level Editor for extracting .REO (mesh, materials, UV-mapping) and the format of storing .REC data is about the same... so if you point this export function to .REC data you will get mesh exported in .reo format... i do not remember right all st...
