Many people have posted problems with the fog when playing with rOpenGL, so I've made a mod to fix the fog problems in
Fortress of Tel Halaf, Gorge of Orlok, Oasis of Nejeb, Forge of Xathra, and Abyss.

Fogfix:
http://daniel.brayforum.com/blademods/

I've only reduced the density of problem atmospheres, and the other atmospheres are untouched.

Notes:
Tel Halaf has darkish lighting, but a bright white dome, so without the atmosphere there's a sharp contrast between walls and sky. It doesn't look right to me, and I think a different (twilight) dome would look much more natural. I'll experiment with other domes and see how they look.

The Abyss is still quite dark for the final battle, but this is because of the sector lighting, not atmosphere.

If any other maps are causing fog problems, post about it here and I'll add it to the mod.

EDIT\
I've added The Forge of Xathra, with reduced red fog. I set the fog density at 0.03 which is clear enough to see through, but still has the hot and smokey feel.

yee I meet that Halaf thing to, I gived the Prospero made background about the snowmountains which he used by Fugitive III, and I san that the walls got thin milk on the edges

it would be cool to edit the basic levels weather look like, with blue sky or evil dark red skies but the most modders said its isnt such easy

It's not too difficult. Chhanging the Atmospheres is easy enough as they tend to be grouped - ext, int, etc. So you can edit one and change all the external sectors without affecting the inside ones. Editing the Ambient lighting is more difficult as you need to select sectors and change them one by one... RAS maps have between about 1200 and 2000 sectors.

I did a Gladiator map which is Nemrut in a night-time setting. (It's on my site for d/l if anyone wants it. If you play the Ascension map in Gladiator, the lighting actually adjusts to the local time. Play at night and it should be dark.
