Fake Zola Dane?

I've been doing stuff at Valley of the Fallen, and when I returned to Surdana yesterday, I was looking around town... when I found Dane by the Tavern! Just standing there, and saying the things he used to say when he was still at the castle. It was weird.. so I took Arokh and shot a strong spell at him (that dark magic stuff) and he disappeared. Has this happened to anyone else?

Sounds like a bug; this game is full of them especially the USA version.

Yes, that's happened to me a few times. This doesn't have too much to do with that, but I found that if you perform a Clone spell and fly Arokh thru the Eye-gate before it wears off, there will be a statue of Rynn where the spell-double was for the rest of the game... so... sometimes I leave one next to Zola to 'guard' him!

Heh, that's fun. I still have to go get the clone spell. Maybe I'll try that trick out on a different save file once I go get it as my payment for killing Khossa Vole.
