any blacksmiths in Stratos?

Played this game many times but have never found a blacksmith (items for sale or items repaired) in Statos. I always thought it curious that the game continues to reward you with bags of gold for slaying foes and found items worth gold but it seems so useless if you can no longer get back to Surdana or anywhere where you can "cash in" or have things repaired.

Have I missed something?

No you have not missed anything; there are no shops or any traders in Stratos so stock up on supplies before you take the sky elevator to Stratos. The gold and equipment you collect up there is pretty much redundant - prehaps the designers originally had the player revisit Surdana after the end cutscene.

Thanks for the response. That clears that up. I also agree those here that wish that more experience points were available --would have been cool. And the end of the game is a little anticlimactic. I was hoping that once the gates were all open you would have the enjoyment of going around (for a short time, at least) wreaking havoc on those that were left with their power much weakened.

Oh well, still love the game and will play it for many many years to come.

Yes the ending was a disappointment but not as bad as OOTF's ending. It would have been nice to return to Surdana and / or tie up some loose ends rather than just getting the storybook cutcene at the end.

I'm glad that Surreal concluded Rynn and Arokh's story though rather than leaving us hanging on for a sequel that never came.

Good points. I agree. Just a shame a follow up (sequel) never was done. I'll admit it would be a tough act to follow though, this game is a PS2 masterpiece. Save anywhere, all the cool weapons, the little surprises (like the chicken I got to buy from Berek the blacksmith once) It only happened once, it was literally a chicken I bought that you could use as a mele weapon. You had to scroll all the way to the end of his inventory and there it was. The damage was ridiculously high-- like 21 or something and the price was only like $10 gold or some such low price. I laughed my ass off. This game is terrifically fun.

Cheers
